Seeing as how we are almost complete with the RWS project, I have just been reflecting on the fact that I will end up spending a year in Singapore.

We first flew over on August 18, 2009. The earliest possible departure date would be August 22, 2010. However, we still have many wrap up tasks to complete, so I will be back after spending some time in LA.

The last time I was away from the States for such a long time was 2004 when I was in Greece for the Olympics. I spent one stretch of 9 straight months in Athens without a trip back home (although I did take some trips to London and Paris).

While in Singapore, I was able to travel home for Christmas and again just a few weeks ago for a nice vacation.

All-in-all I am always thankful for such amazing opportunities. Having Singapore to use as a base for my (far too late in life) introduction to Asia has been great. It’s so easy to get to other places and a comfortable location to stay. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a trip to the East.
